8:30- Day Campers arrive at GMRCC and are shuttled to the overnight site to begin the day. Campers awake and prepare breakfast to fuel up for a day of adventure
9:00- Gear up and depart for Climbing, Rappelling and Caving at Deer Leap.
9:30- Hike to the top of Deer Leap carrying gear and food for the day.
10:00- Rappel over the edge of an 85 foot cliff
10:30- Climb on top-ropes some of the many climbs at Deer Leap.
12:00- Lunch at the Crag (slang for climbing area)
1:00- Explore the caves beneath Deer Leap with headlamps
2:30- Snack outside the caves
3:00- Continue to explore the caves and lower climbs of Deer Leap
4:00- Return to GMRCC for Day Campers. Overnight campers return to camp site to relax and prepare dinner
8:00- Campfire for overnighters, followed by a good night’s rest in preparation for the next day’s adventure
Monday: Hike a piece of the world famous Appalachian Trail which stretches from Georgia to Maine
Tuesday: Summit a local cliff via a hiking trail portaging the day’s gear, then rappel over the edge to the bottom and spend the day climbing
Wednesday: Kayak the quick water of the White River, one of Vermont’s longest rivers uninterrupted by hydro-electric dams.
Thursday: Mountain Bike on the incredible trails of Rutland's own Pine Hill Park.
Friday: Explore a local cave system where the temperature is always cool- a great way to end a week!
